MAKE AN EK-MINUTE 16MM FILM
COLOUR FILM STOCK, CAMERA, DEVELOPING, SCANNING AND SCREENING ON US
We are back with the Ek Minute film competition, where selected makers will get a chance to execute their film ideas on 50ft of 16mm colour stock, and get to shoot on a Bolex H16 or K3 16mm camera. You come in with a fantastic and simplistic but engaging 1 minute film idea and we give you 50ft colour film stock, camera, developing, scanning, and finally screen your film at the 16mm Film Festival 2021.
Engaging with celluloid film allows participants a chance to explore a visual language that is specific to the medium. With Ek-minute, Harkat presents an opportunity for filmmakers, artists and scriptwriters to engage with film, to challenge themselves in creating a strong, concise story that fits the one minute format, and to make in a hands-on learning environment. There is no scope here for a second take, there are no changes, only one person looks through the viewfinder and you only see your images after a week. It’s as conscious as it gets in filmmaking. It’s a test of rigour, of planning and of clarity in thought. If you’re up for it, submit your ideas asap.
Deadline: 20th November 2021
Please note: We will only be selecting 5 makers. The films will be produced between 3rd-6th December, and in case your idea is selected you will need to be in Mumbai or be willing to travel to Mumbai between 3rd-6th December.
